the iX500 Deluxe features give one-press access to Fujitsu’s highly regarded
scanning software.
Its Quick Menu can be set up to display your favourite
scanning destinations or will recommend the most appropriate application based
on its intelligent document recognition. For example when a business card is
recognised, Quick Menu shows a list of relevant contact management software.

The smart ScanSnap iX500
Deluxe caters for every home and business scanning need, whether it’s business
cards, receipts, or irregular shaped items such as recipes or magazines and
newspaper clippings. The bundled carrier sheet enables iX500 users to digitise
larger documents (A3/B4) as well as fragile items such as photographs – and
carrier sheets can be scanned either as separate batches or mixed in with
regular documents.
ScanSnap Folder, simplifying scanning to Windows applications
Inserting and importing images or PDFs into your
favourite applications is a breeze, even without traditional driver software or
a scanning interface. Simply browse to the new ‘ScanSnap Folder’ within your
local computer, hit the blue Scan button on your scanner and your document will
then be automatically imported into your application then deleted from
‘ScanSnap Folder’.

With built-in Wi-Fi, the iX500 offers the unique
ability to link directly with mobile devices including iPad, iPhone and Android
smartphones or tablets as well as Kindle devices. What is more, users can
wirelessly operate the scanner via their Smart Device and the ScanSnap Connect

device, manipulated, retrieved at a later date and distributed. Additionally it

Adobe® Acrobat® XI Standard, enables Windows users to move beyond merely “seeing” and “printing”
generated data, by editing generated PDF files however they like. Acrobat XI
generates password and digital ID attached PDF files that are ideal for
safeguarding personal data and other confidential information.
ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap V5.0 is the latest version of this top-class OCR engine that allows users to
create editable Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files on Mac and Windows
platforms. The software recognises text in hundreds of languages worldwide. CardMinder
V5.0 efficiently
organises business card information whether scanning a single card or large
volumes of contacts collected at trade exhibitions. Enhanced language support
includes business card recognition in English, French, German, Italian,
Portuguese, Spanish and Russian as well as other common languages. Readily
transfer scanned data into Excel, Outlook Express, SalesForce and other
databases for future reference.

Get more organised with the Deluxe bundle
ScanSnap iX500 Deluxe comes bundled with Rack2-Filer Smart and Magic Desktop (Windows only) –
making it easy to organise, manage and use the data from document scans.
Rack2-Filer Smart allows you to save your scanned and existing digital data in realistic
looking bookcases and files that can then be easily retrieved and flipped
through – just like you would with regular paper files. Access and utilise this
data anywhere through your cloud services; edit, add comments then save or
redistribute via a smart mobile device.
Magic Desktop enables you to organise/edit image files or scan data imported from
ScanSnap in a workspace simulating an actual desktop. It allows users to
seamlessly organise their work by categorising data in groups and can also
share information with a group via a built-in Facebook link.

It goes without saying, that scanning saves paper,
saves trees. The iX500 Deluxe goes even further in helping the environment. It
supports in advance the new version of "Energy Star" power saving
standards, planned to be introduced in September 2013. The iX500 was designed
from the outset to save energy. Its new CIS imaging sensor and red/green/blue
LED light source help to reduce operating power by 40%, to just 20W, whilst
consumption is slashed to 1.6W or less in sleep mode (2.5W when Wi-Fi is
enabled). It even turns itself off completely when unused for a specified
length of time.
